Corticosteroid injection after nose surgery is used to reduce swelling, special at nose tip.
This injection should be done under your surgeon prescription. In some patients swelling is faded after a while.
Corticosteroid injection should be done under your surgeon’s prescription, most of the time patients don’t need injection. Injection is recommended when you have swelling for a long time after surgery. Corticosteroid should be injected to tip of the nose, at its proper time to have minimal risks.
Fleshy noses need injection more than bony noses, because this is a complex and difficult surgery and patients will have prolonged swelling.
When Corticosteroid injection is needed?
- Fleshy noses with thick and fatty skin, and more swelling
- Prolonged swelling
- those who have many nose surgeries
Best time of injection
This injection depends on your surgeon’s opinion. 4- 6 weeks after surgery is the best time for this injection. Corticosteroid injected after surgery and into anterior part of the nasal tip.
